Ridding your home of dust mites
10 top tips
1. Dusting isn’t enough - Regularly wipe furniture surfaces with a damp or microfibre cloth as opposed to a standard duster in order to prevent dust being stirred up and allergens floating into the air.
2. Carpets harbour dust - Remove carpeting and rugs wherever possible in favour of tile or
wooden flooring.
3. It’s curtains for dust mites - Switch from fabric curtains which can harbour dust mites to
blinds which can be wiped clean. If removing your curtains is not an option, then wash
them every 3-6 months at hot temperatures to kill dust mites and remove their allergens.
4. Healthy hoovering - Vacuum frequently and change the bag each time to prevent dust mites
continuing to thrive within your vacuum cleaner.
5. Put dust mites in hot water - Wash all bed linen weekly at 60°C to kill dust mites
6. Dying of thirst - Reduce indoor humidity. House dust mites are 80% water and cannot live without it, so keep rooms well ventilated with air and sunlight and invest in a dehumidifier. Be sure to open a window when cooking or having a shower to prevent humidity building up.
7. Man and allergens best friend - Keep pets out of the bedrooms, preferably outside, away from bedding, furniture and carpets and be sure to clean their bedding frequently at hot temperatures as individuals with dust mite allergies tend also to be irritated by pet dander.
8. No Playtime for dust mites - Remove fluffy and furry soft toys from the bedroom and wash them frequently. Placing them in the freezer for 48 hours will also destroy the dust mites they harbour.
9. An excuse to avoid housework! - Keep beds unmade to allow moisture and heat evaporation during the day, making them less hospitable for dust mites.
10. Allergen-free Feng Shui - Avoid furniture made of porous fabrics and soft furnishings wherever possible.

Dust Mite Controller simply plugs into your socket and emits a complicated range of inaudible ultrasonic waves covering up to 62.8m3. These sounds interfere with the feeding and reproductive cycles of the dust mite, immediately reducing the amount of allergens produced (faecal matter) and over a period cause the population of mites to decrease. The Dust Mite Controller is a non toxic device, without chemical substances. It is completely ecological and effectively reduces the number of dust mites and the allergens they produce.
Mini Dust Mite Controller device is similar to the size of a matchbox and can be taken with you to provide you with 20-30m3 of coverage wherever you are. Simply pull out the red tab to activate for approximately 1 year. The device works in exactly the same way as the plug-in dust mite controller, why not place one in your car to protect you from dust mites whilst on the move or on your desk to stay allergy-free while you work? With its handy size and great value your dust mite protection need not stop when you leave home.
